This whole business going on with Andrew Jones at UCLA is just disturbing. For those of you that don't know, Andrew Jones is a recent grad of UCLA who has created his own alumni group that offered to pay students $100 to bring him audio tapes of professors preaching their liberal views in an effort to expose "radical" professors. This guy has really pissed off the majority of the UCLA community, and really a lot of people in general.

This is the guy that, several years ago, when president of the Bruin Republicans, decided it was a good idea to hold an "affirmative action bakesale," charging different prices for different races and sexes. Yep, this guy is a real gem.

What I don't understand is what he expects to accomplish through gathering this information. Yes, he has made a website (www.uclaprofs.com for anyone that wants a good laugh) but what for? People aren't going there to gather information on how "radical" the professors are, but rather to be appalled at this new form of McCarthyism.

And honestly, if the guy was so concerned about being taught by professors with a liberal bias, why the hell did he go to UCLA? I mean, you pick a PUBLIC school in CALIFORNIA and then are dumbfounded that the faculty lean to the left? Its like going to Berkeley and being offended by the amount of hippies. I know a school down the road that he would've been much happier at.

At least its good to know that the majority of the students at UCLA would never do such blatant spying on their professors for such an evil person. Probably for the same reason that the Bruin Republicans are one of the most hated groups on campus.
